Brands that dig us:

What students want from you

We asked students what brands should do to gain their loyalty in the future and according to the latest SA Student Spending Report, nearly half of all students said they wanted discounts, and many in this bracket said they wanted tailored student discounts designed just for them. Similarly to discounts, students also want lower prices, and they also like the idea of rewards, vouchers and loyalty cards. Freebies, improved quality and lower interest rates were also mentioned but came up lower on the list.

We conclude that students are not sophisticated consumers because they are looking mainly at price as a main determinant of loyalty. Yes, loyalty can be built through discounting and price cutting to make your brands more accessible to this market.
