Brands that dig us:

According to the latest SA Student Spending Report, students who rent actually spend more than students living at home. This sounds obvious because rent is a big expense. However, if we take the rent costs away, we can see that they generally spend across the categories more than students that live at home or in campus res. Which is surprising seeing as you would think students who live at home would have more to spend in general.

The insight here is that people spend according to their needs. When they have more, they spend more across the categories. For a marketing manager that wants to do a campaign on their latest food offerings, it makes sense to go where the money is and focus on students that are renting.
