3 Ways To Revive Your Brand On Campus – A Sabinet Case Study By Student VillageIn Trends
Sabinet has become one of the leading suppliers of online legal information in South Africa and with law students about to enter the world of work, they could surely do with case studies and access to real life scenarios. Though it seems clear that they need this information, students place a premium on their attention and only engage with companies that show them real interest and personalized value. Here are 3 ways Sabinet overcame this challenge with South African law students, creating a long-lasting impression and connection to their future.
- Getting To The Podium
Amid students’ attempt to lessen brand saturation, Sabinet, a recognized leader in information sharing with over 30 years on campus, needed to revive excitement around their usability in a law student’s world. Even though Sabinet had been operating in all major universities nationwide, committed to facilitating access to information, students needed more reason to get excited.
To get youth plugged into the Sabinet’s information resources, Sabinet plugged into them instead, visiting WITS and UJ, both universities in SA with top Law faculties. Getting students to the activation stand, Sabinet created an unconventional pre-awareness campaign to riddle students with practical scenarios that could hold them up in a court of law. Adding in the announcement of a competition to win cash prizes of R10,000, alongside some instant prizes, students were ready to engage, come activation time.
The Magic: Sabinet created excitement by setting the scene and getting students there wasn’t even about the freebies. Sabinet incentivised law students for engaging with them and lead them to use their law resources to solve the riddles even before the activation reached campus. Now that’s proactive!
- Technically, No Objections
To students, technology is an enabler of working smarter not harder. Sabinet saw this fact as an opportunity to really put their platform’s ease of use into action. By setting up their space with all the technology that students needed to engage their online resource, including IPADS and Sabinet librarians assisting students to interact with the platform, law students were solving the law riddle’s in no time. To support their online experience, Sabinet also gave students a pocket-sized booklet to navigate the legislative landscape with. The booklet wasn’t just a teaser of what they could find online, but a personal Sabinet touch reserved for law students only.
The Magic: Sabinet could demonstrate its seamlessness while connecting law students with experts who have been using the Sabinet platform for years. While technology is not the best communicator, the human advisory and assistance kept students asking all the right questions on how to best use the platform.
- Before We Pound The Gavel…
As students learned the ropes of the law, they also got to have some fun. From enjoying some fresh popcorn on campus, to playing strategic games like life size jenga with their peers in law, Sabinet used instant fun to reinforce their ability to give students instant gratification when it comes to getting the relevant information that they need to support them.
The Magic: Instant gratification remains a prized incentive for the youth market. While students got rewarded for putting Sabinet to the test, they found out that Sabinet’s got their back next time they need to play the part of a legal eagle.
